Your First Orthodontic Visit
Complimentary Consultation
At your first visit, you will be greeted by our Treatment Coordinator who will give you a tour of our office and introduce you to some of our team members. She will then obtain a thorough Medical/Dental history and discuss your orthodontic concerns with you. Complimentary diagnostic records are usually taken at this first appointment and will include an examination by Dr. Harrison, photographs of your teeth and face, as well as a 3-D scan. We offer the latest in 3-D scanning technology with our iCAT FLEX Scanner. This state-of-the-art scanner allows us to obtain the necessary scans, through a single 3-D scan, with only a fraction of the radiation exposure that is normally received when taking "regular" dental x-rays.
The information obtained from the examination and the diagnostic records is used to determine what your unique orthodontic needs are and will be used to develop a customized treatment plan if you should choose pursue treatment. After Dr. Harrison has evaluated your records and performed an examination, he will review with you his findings and discuss any treatment options that would be available to you, his recommended course of treatment, and the estimated length of treatment time.
Following the treatment presentation by Dr. Harrison, our Treatment Coordinator will answer any questions you may have about braces, aligners, or any other appliances recommended. She will then present to you the cost of treatment including any estimated insurance coverage available, and will work with you to create a payment plan that is best suited to fit within your budget.
Appointments
The appointment at which your appliances (braces, expanders, aligners, etc.) are placed usually takes about one hour. There are no shots or needles involved and it is relatively painless. You will then see us for scheduled appointments, at regular intervals typically 6 to 8 weeks apart, for adjustments which take 20 to 40 minutes. .

Orthodontic treatment is an excellent investment in the overall dental, medical, and psychological well being of children and adults. The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient’s orthodontic problem so the fee may vary from one patient to the next. Before treatment begins, we will discuss the fee with you and the payment options which we offer. We are sensitive to the financial considerations that people have and we will work out a financial arrangement that works for your budget. We also accept assignment from your insurance company and we will gladly fill out and file the necessary paper work. We do our best to keep financial considerations from being an obstacle to obtaining such an important healthcare service as orthodontic treatment!
In an effort to keep orthodontic fees and administrative costs down, while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established the following financial policies:
We offer a courtesy reduction of the treatment fee, when full payment is made by cash or check, by the start of treatment appointment. If you have insurance coverage, this reduction applies to your portion of the fee that is not covered by insurance.
We also offer a family reduction of the treatment fee for additional family members that start treatment in our office.
To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months. In order to provide no-interest in-house financing, patient accounts are placed on auto pay with your choice of payment date of either the 15th or 25th of the month.
For your convenience, we accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Payments may be made 24/7 through the secure Pay Pal link on our website.
Insurance
If you have insurance coverage, we will help you to determine the estimated benefit amount you have available before treatment is started. We accept assignment of benefit and we will help in every way we can by filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf..
